1. Describe your ideal house or apartment
Talk about where it would be / what it would be like / who you would live with / why you want to live there.
When it comes to my ideal house, I actually have a very clear picture in my mind. That’s because I once stayed in an Airbnb during a trip to Banff National Park, and that experience made me realize what kind of home I truly want in the future.
I’m currently living in a small apartment in Midtown Toronto, and due to the high cost of rent, the space is quite limited. So I often dream that when I earn a higher salary in the future, I could move to a bigger place with more space. Sometimes I even browse interior design pictures online and save the ones I like.
The Airbnb in Banff was absolutely perfect to me. At first, we didn’t have high expectations because most good listings were already booked. But when we arrived, we were so surprised. Even though the place only had one bedroom, it had everything we needed — a kitchen, a cozy living room, and even a game console. What’s more, they had a really large garden, and when we sat at the dining table, we could see the Rocky Mountains through the window. Even in summer, there was still snow on the mountain tops. The view was breathtaking.
At night, we could just walk into the Banff town center without even driving. One time, we saw a mother deer with her babies eating grass by the side of the road. It felt like we were really living side by side with nature.
I thought to myself, “Isn’t this exactly the kind of house I want?” Peaceful, natural, with beautiful views, maybe even with a dog playing in the garden. That’s my dream home.
2. Describe a room you liked in someone else’s house
You should say where it was / what it looked like / what you did there / and explain why you liked it.
A room that really left a deep impression on me was the one-bedroom apartment I stayed in during my trip to Banff. It wasn’t a friend’s house, but an Airbnb — which technically is still someone else’s home. And to me, it was unforgettable.
Right now, I live in a very compact apartment in Midtown Toronto. So whenever I go traveling, I really look forward to staying in different kinds of accommodations. For this trip to Banff, my friends and I didn’t expect much because most popular listings were already fully booked. But this apartment surprised us in the best way.
The room was small but very cozy. The bed was soft, and there was a huge window facing the Rocky Mountains. The kitchen and living room were open concept, and there was even a PlayStation. The whole place was very clean and tastefully decorated — it had this warm, wooden cabin style that matched the mountain vibe perfectly.
But the best part? When we sat at the dining table, we could see the mountain peaks right outside. And during dinner, we even spotted deer walking in the backyard. One night we took a walk in the neighborhood and saw a mother deer and her babies eating grass. That moment felt like a dream.
I liked that room so much because it felt like a peaceful escape from the busy city life. I wish I could live in a room like that forever — close to nature, quiet, and beautifully designed.
3. Describe a good house/apartment you visited
You should say where it was / what it was like / who lived there / and explain why you think it was a good place.
One of the best places I’ve ever stayed in was an Airbnb in Banff. It left such a strong impression on me that even now I think about it often.
At the time, my friends and I were planning a short trip to Banff National Park. We searched online for a place to stay and didn’t find many good choices left. But we booked a one-bedroom Airbnb anyway, thinking it would just be “okay.” But when we arrived, we were blown away by how nice it was.
The apartment was small but perfect. It had a full kitchen, a comfy living room with a game console, and a dining table right next to a large window that showed us an amazing view of the Rocky Mountains. The garden was huge, and the fresh air was so different from the air in the city.
Every morning, I woke up feeling refreshed. We would eat breakfast while watching the snowy mountains. In the evening, we’d take a short walk into the town of Banff — no need to drive. And one night, we even saw a mother deer with her babies walking across someone’s lawn.
That apartment made me realize how much I enjoy being close to nature. The peacefulness, the beautiful view, and the cozy room all made it a perfect home. I think I would be so happy living in a place like that long-term.
