IELTS Speaking Part 2 – A cultural place where you can learn a culture

The cultural place I want to talk about is a bit different from traditional historical sites. It’s more modern and represents a cultural trend from recent decades — the K-pop industry.

The place is called SM Town Museum, located in Seoul, South Korea. It was built by SM Entertainment, one of the biggest entertainment companies in Asia. I first heard about it in middle school, because I was a huge fan of a boy group called EXO, which is under this company. Unfortunately, I’ve never been to Korea, but I’ve always dreamed of visiting this museum.

The museum shows how the company grew from small to one of the top three in East Asia. Each group or artist has their own hall, displaying their albums, stage costumes, and concert setups. There’s also a theater where people can watch documentaries about K-pop culture and the relationship between idols and fans.

One part I remember clearly is the bronze handprints of the artists. You can put your hands in and pretend you're holding hands with your idol. It’s quite romantic and touching.

I think this museum is a great place to learn about modern Korean pop culture, which has influenced young people not only in Asia but around the world. So if someone wants to understand this lifestyle and trend, SM Town Museum is a perfect place to visit.

An Unusual Building You Would Like to Visit

The building I’d like to visit is a bit unusual compared to traditional buildings or museums. It’s called SM Town Museum, and it’s located in Seoul, South Korea.

It’s not a historical or religious building. Instead, it was built by SM Entertainment, one of the biggest K-pop companies in Asia. The whole building is actually dedicated to modern pop culture, especially the K-pop industry. That’s why I find it quite special and unique.

I first heard about this place when I was in middle school, because I was a big fan of a boy group called EXO. They belong to this company, and back then I used to follow all their news. Unfortunately, I’ve never been to South Korea, but this museum has always been on my travel wish list.

Inside the museum, each artist or group has their own space, showing their albums, costumes, and stage designs. There’s even a theater where visitors can watch documentaries about K-pop culture and how it spreads across Asia and the world.

The part I really want to see is the bronze handprints of the idols. You can actually put your hands into the mold — it feels like you’re holding hands with your favorite artist! I think that’s quite emotional and romantic for fans.

I believe this museum is more than just a fan attraction — it’s an unusual building that reflects a modern cultural trend and a new type of lifestyle for many young people. That’s why I really hope to visit it someday.
