Describe one of your grandparents’ job

My grandfather used to run a photo lab in my hometown. When he was young, he studied photography in Shanghai and worked there for a few years. Later, he decided to return to our small city and open his own photo studio — it was actually the only one in town at the time.

He helped local people take portraits, family photos, and develop film. He did this job for many decades until he finally retired in his 60s. Even after retirement, he still enjoys walking around with his camera and capturing beautiful moments.

I grew up with him taking all my ID photos at home, and we have many photo albums filled with family memories. I really enjoy flipping through them — it feels like traveling through time.

My grandfather also taught me how to use a camera. Even after I went abroad, I often sent him my film photos and he would praise them. He once told me, "What matters most is not the technique, but your heart." That really influenced me.

Once I lost my camera during a trip, and he comforted me by saying the most important thing was the joy and memories, not the photos.

Now I work in a design-related field, and I still feel connected to his passion. I don’t think I’d want to run a photo lab like he did, but I really respect his work and the values he passed on to me.
