1. Describe a noisy place you have been to
(描述一个你去过的吵闹地方)
One of the noisiest places I’ve ever been to was a beach music festival I attended last summer in Zhuhai, China. It’s one of the most exciting events in the summer, where people celebrate the season and the power of music, from hip-hop to rock.
I went there in August with a few of my friends. The atmosphere was amazing—people were dancing, singing, eating street food, and enjoying the night. But the place was extremely noisy. The music from the speakers was so loud that I felt my ears buzzing. It was hard to even talk to my friends unless we shouted. On top of that, the crowd was very loud as well. People were screaming, laughing, singing along, and some were even blowing whistles.
At one point, I had to cover my ears because the bass was just too much. I love music, and I enjoy live performances, but the sound was honestly overwhelming and a little uncomfortable for my ears. Still, I stayed because I really wanted to see my favorite band, Mandarin, perform.
That night made me realize that live music is exciting, but it can also be a bit too noisy for some people. Next time, I’ll definitely bring earplugs!
2. Describe a problem with plastic waste
(描述一个塑料垃圾问题)
Last summer, I went to a beach music festival in Zhuhai, China, and while I had a great time, I also saw a serious problem with plastic waste.
The festival was full of energy. People danced on the sand, listened to live music, and bought snacks from food stalls. I especially enjoyed the performance by my favorite band, Mandarin. Everything was perfect—until the music ended.
When people started leaving, the beach turned into a total mess. There were plastic drink cups, food containers, water bottles, and even plastic bags all over the sand. Some people had put plastic bags on the grass to sit on but didn’t take them away afterward.
The worst part was when I accidentally stepped on a half-eaten hamburger. My shoes got dirty, and I felt both disgusted and disappointed. Maybe because I live in Canada, I’m used to cleaner public places and people cleaning up after themselves. But in China, some people believe that it’s the cleaner’s job to handle everything after the event.
I think this shows a need for better public education about environmental protection. Big events like this should also provide more trash bins and promote eco-friendly behavior.
3. Describe a crowded place you have been to
(描述一个你去过的拥挤地方)
One of the most crowded places I’ve been to was a beach music festival in Zhuhai, China. I went there with my friends last August. The festival was held near the sea and was very popular, so thousands of people showed up.
I really wanted to see my favorite band, Mandarin, so I lined up early to get a spot near the stage. But once the performance started, the crowd pushed forward, and I was completely surrounded. I could hardly move. I even wanted to go to the bathroom at one point, but I knew that if I left my spot, I would never be able to get that close to the stage again.
So, I decided to stay and just hold it in until the show was over. It was quite stressful. I felt very nervous and even a little claustrophobic. The air was hard to breathe, and the noise and heat made me feel uncomfortable.
While I enjoyed the band’s performance, I didn’t enjoy being stuck in such a tight space. It reminded me that even fun events can become unpleasant if they’re too crowded. Next time, I’ll try to enjoy the music from a little farther back.
4. Describe a live performance you enjoyed watching
(描述一场你喜欢的现场演出)
Last summer, I attended a live music performance at a beach festival in Zhuhai, China, and it was one of the most unforgettable experiences I’ve had.
I went there with my friends in August. The festival was very lively, and the beach setting made it extra special. People danced in the sand, enjoyed street food, and watched different bands perform. The performance I enjoyed most was by a Chinese indie rock band called Mandarin.
I had been following this band online for a while, but this was my first time seeing them live. Their energy on stage was incredible. They interacted with the crowd, played my favorite songs, and even added some special guitar solos just for the live show.
The sound of the waves behind us, the cool night breeze, and the colorful stage lights created a magical atmosphere. Everyone around me was singing and dancing. I felt truly connected with the music and the people.
Although the crowd was a bit crazy and the music was super loud, I still loved the experience. It reminded me of how powerful and joyful live music can be.
5. Describe a celebration you enjoyed
(描述一个你很喜欢的庆祝活动)
One celebration I really enjoyed was a beach music festival in Zhuhai, China, last summer. It was a big event that people attended to celebrate the arrival of summer and the beauty of music.
I went there with some friends in August. The whole beach was decorated with colorful lights and banners. People gathered to listen to different bands, eat street food, and dance by the sea. The event felt like a big party that brought strangers together through music.
I especially enjoyed the performance by my favorite band, Mandarin. When they came on stage, the whole crowd cheered and jumped. It felt amazing to be part of something so energetic and joyful.
Although the place was very crowded and noisy, and the beach became messy afterward, the celebration itself was unforgettable. It was a mix of freedom, excitement, and connection. It made me appreciate how music can bring people together to celebrate life.
